Cookie Policy

What are cookies
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device when you visit. They let the site remember things — like whether you've already accepted this notice — so it doesn't have to ask again. Most cookies don't contain personal information that identifies you directly.
We use cookies sparingly. The essential ones keep the site working. The optional ones help us understand how people use the site, which we use to make decisions about it.
Cookies we use
Essential cookies (always active)
These are required for the site to function. They can't be disabled here, though you can delete them through your browser settings.
- cookieConsent — stores your cookie preference so we don't show the banner again. Expires after 12 months.
Analytics cookies (optional)
If you consent, these help us understand which pages people visit and how long they spend on them. Data is aggregated — we can't identify individual visitors.
- Analytics platform tracking cookies — session and persistent. Typically expire within 2 years.
Marketing cookies (optional)
These would allow us to show relevant advertising on other sites. We don't currently use advertising networks, but this consent covers any such use in future.
Preference cookies (optional)
These remember settings you've chosen, such as interface preferences. Currently not in use, but covered for completeness.
Third-party cookies
Where we use third-party tools (such as analytics platforms), those services may set their own cookies. Currently we use or may use:
- Google Analytics — page view and session tracking (analytics only, with IP anonymisation).
Third-party cookies are governed by those companies' own privacy policies.
How long cookies last
- Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser.
- Persistent cookies remain until they expire or you delete them. Our consent cookie expires after 12 months. Analytics cookies typically expire within 1–2 years.
